Terms of service

The agreement between you and Kifuna: plans, automatic renewal, cancelling, what happens to printed codes, and what each of us is responsible for.

The short version

Renewal
Automatic, on the same date each month or year, until you cancel.
Cancel
Two clicks on your Billing page, any time.
Refunds
Payments aren't refunded.
Printed codes
Work to the end of what you paid for. Their short links are never given to anyone else.
Limits
Unlimited codes, edits and scans, under the fair-use policy.

Who we are and what these terms cover

Kifuna is run by Kifuna LLC (“Kifuna”, “we” or “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us for kifuna.com, the kifu.to short links your codes print, and everything you make with them.

They include our privacy policy, acceptable use policy, fair-use policy and refunds and code continuity policy. If you use Kifuna for a business or organization, you agree to these terms for it, and “you” means it too.

If a payment fails

We try the payment again for about 2 weeks, and email you after each failed try. Your codes keep working meanwhile, and a new payment method on your Billing page pays straight away. If every try fails, your plan ends and your codes stop, as the refunds and code continuity policy describes.

Your printed codes

Web link, PDF and contact-card codes print a kifu.to short link that we run, so they follow your plan. Wi-Fi and text codes hold their details themselves, so they keep working whatever happens. For codes that follow your plan, we commit to this:

These commitments hold unless we block a code or suspend your account under these terms or the acceptable use policy. The refunds and code continuity policy has the details.

Fair use

Plans include unlimited codes, edits and scans. The only limits are the kinds the fair-use policy describes. They stop abuse, such as automated or unusually heavy use. Reaching one stops that one action for a while; your codes keep working.

What your codes may open

Your codes must follow the acceptable use policy. We check every web address before it goes live and every day after that. We may hold a change, block a code or suspend an account as that policy describes, and you can ask us to review it.

Your content

The files you download, and Kifuna itself

Keeping Kifuna running

Printed codes redirect from kifu.to, separately from kifuna.com, so they keep working when the site is down. We work to keep both running, but we can't promise Kifuna will always be available or without errors. We may change or retire features. If we ever shut Kifuna down, we'll email you at least 30 days before your codes stop.

Closing an account

No other promises

We keep the commitments these terms make. Beyond them, and as far as the law allows, Kifuna is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, Kifuna isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about Kifuna is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Claims about your content

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your codes or your breaking these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs and losses from it, including legal fees.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with its date, and email you at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect, unless the law needs it sooner. If you don't agree, cancel before it applies. Using Kifuna after that means you accept it.
