Refunds and code continuity
Payments aren't refunded. What happens to printed codes when you cancel, a payment fails or a plan ends, and how to turn them back on.
The short version
- Refunds
- Payments aren't refunded. Cancel any time before the next charge.
- If you cancel
- Web link, PDF and contact-card codes work to the end of the period you paid for. We email you 7 days before they stop.
- A failed payment
- Codes keep working for about 2 weeks while we try again.
- After that
- Scanners see a neutral “isn't active” page, never someone else's page.
- Coming back
- The same printed codes work again within seconds.
Refunds
Payments aren't refunded, so cancel any time before the next charge. Your codes keep working at least until the paid period ends. If a charge looks wrong, send us a message and we'll look into it.
Cancelling, switching plans or deleting your account doesn't refund any payment. Only moving from monthly to yearly counts the rest of a month you've paid for: it's credited against the yearly plan's price that day, not paid back.
Now and then we may refund a payment anyway, for example a charge made in error. That's our decision, case by case, and never a promise. If we refund the payment for the period you're in, your plan ends: your codes keep working for 7 days after the refund, in case you've already printed, and we email you the date they stop. A partial refund, or a refund of an earlier payment, doesn't change your plan.
Nothing here takes away a right to a refund that the law gives you.
Which codes this is about
Web link, PDF and contact-card codes print a kifu.to short link that we run, so they follow your plan, as below. Wi-Fi and text codes hold their details themselves, so they keep working whatever happens.
If you cancel
- Cancel in two clicks on your Billing page. Nothing more is charged.
- Your codes keep working to the end of the period you paid for.
- We email you 7 days before they stop (unless you cancel later than that). There's no extra period after the one you paid for.
- Until then, Keep my plan undoes the cancellation in one click.
If a payment fails
Your codes keep working while we try the payment again, for about 2 weeks. We email you after each failed try with the date of the next one, and a new payment method on your Billing page pays straight away. If every try fails, your plan ends and your codes stop.
When codes stop
Anyone who scans one of your web link, PDF or contact-card codes sees a neutral page:
This QR code isn't active. Is this your code? Sign in to turn it back on.
- No ads, no offers and no link to where the code used to go, and never someone else's page.
- We email you the day your codes stop, and once more 30 days later. No countdowns and no email for each scan.
- Your codes shows each one as inactive since that date, with Reactivate.
Wi-Fi and text codes keep working, because they hold their details themselves.
You can also pause a single code from Your codes, for example while a printed offer is over. Scanners see the same page until you resume it.
Turning codes back on
Choose Reactivate in Your codes and pay at checkout. The same printed codes work again within seconds, each opening what it's set to open now. A code you designed after your plan ended is saved only when you choose the monthly or yearly plan.
How long we keep stopped codes
We keep your codes' designs, addresses, settings and PDFs for 12 months after they stop, so they come back whole, then delete them. Each short link stays reserved for good: it's never given to anyone else, and it keeps showing the “isn't active” page.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account from your Account page cancels your plan at once, without a refund, and stops and deletes your codes. Their short links stay reserved and show the “isn't active” page.
Blocked codes are different
A code blocked for safety shows “This link was blocked for safety” instead, and stays blocked until a review lifts it, whatever happens to your plan. The acceptable use policy explains blocks and reviews. These commitments hold unless we block a code or suspend your account under it or the terms of service.
