Help · Making and printing codes
Changing a code after printing
Change where a printed code goes without reprinting it, undo a change, or pause a code.
Change where it goes
Open the code in Your codes and choose Change. The designer opens with the same short link, so every printed copy follows the change.
We check new addresses first
Before we send scanners to a new web address, we check it for phishing and malware, which usually takes a few seconds. Until it passes, the code's page says “Checking this address” and where scanners go meanwhile. If an address doesn't pass, we don't publish it: the code keeps its last address, and its page says why. See blocked codes and changes we didn't publish.
When it's live
Once the address passes, the change goes to the service that answers printed codes, and every scan gets it within seconds. The code's page says “Publishing your change” until every scan does, so “Active” always means scanners get the new address.
Undo a change
A code's page keeps its history. Choose Undo the last change, or Use this again next to an earlier address.
Change how it looks
A new look applies to new downloads. Copies you've already printed keep their look, and keep working, because the link is the same.
Pause a code
Pausing shows scanners a neutral “This QR code isn't active” page until you resume it, for example while a printed offer is over. It doesn't change your plan.
Codes you can't change
Wi-Fi and text codes hold their details in the printed pattern, so a change means printing a new code.
