PDF and contact-card codes
Codes that open a PDF, or save your contact details to a phone.
PDF codes
Upload a menu, a brochure or any PDF, and the code opens it. Each PDF can be up to 20 MB, and an account can store up to 2 GB of them.
We check every PDF before anyone can open it, for viruses and for anything that could run on a phone: scripts, attached files and links to apps. If a file doesn't pass, the designer, the code's page and an email say why and what to do, usually to save it again as a plain PDF.
We also check the pages a PDF links to, the way we check a web link's address, before publishing it and again every day. A PDF can link to up to 100 different web addresses. If Google lists one of them as unsafe, a new PDF isn't published, and a live one is blocked until the page is fixed; we email you either way, and you can ask us to check again.
To change the file later, open the code in Your codes and upload a new one. Printed copies open the new file once it passes, because the link stays the same, and the code keeps the one before so you can undo the change.
Contact-card codes
Add your name, phone, email, website and address, and scanning the code offers to save them to the phone's contacts. Change the details whenever they change, without reprinting.
For both
- They print a short kifu.to link and follow your plan, like web links. See what happens when a plan ends.
- Anyone with the code can open what it holds, so don't put anything private in them.
Still stuck? Check a code that won't scan, see all help, or contact us.
